Yamaha has introduced a new ‘Dark Knight’ edition of its popular YZF-R15 V4 motorcycle, priced at Rs 1.82 lakh.
The Yamaha R15 Dark Knight edition features a unique black color scheme with gold accents, including the Yamaha and R15 logos as well as the alloy wheels. Alongside the Dark Knight variant, the R15 V4 is currently available in four other colors: Red (Rs 1.81 lakh), Blue, ‘Intensity White’ (both Rs 1.86 lakh).

In terms of mechanical specifications, the Dark Knight edition remains identical to the standard R15 V4. It is equipped with a liquid-cooled, 155cc, single-cylinder engine that delivers unchanged power figures of 18.4hp and 14.2Nm of torque. The motorcycle features a deltabox frame, USD fork, and monoshock suspension setup. Braking duties are handled by a 282mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc, supported by a dual-channel ABS system.
The Yamaha R15 V4 competes with other small-capacity, fully-faired sportbikes in the Indian market such as the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 (priced between Rs 1.92 lakh and Rs 2.02 lakh) and the KTM RC 200 (priced at Rs 2.18 lakh). Soon, the Hero Karizma XMR will also join this segment.
