Maruti Suzuki Jimmy: Price, features, variants, colours, rivals and more

Anticipated to be launched in the current month, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny is one of the most eagerly awaited releases in the Indian market. This lifestyle SUV was unveiled at the 2023 Auto Expo in a 5-door format and will be powered by a 1.5L petrol engine. The vehicle is designed to fit within the sub-4m category to take advantage of tax benefits, making it likely to have an appealing starting price.

Launch date – 

Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch the highly anticipated Jimny sub-4m SUV, which is now arriving at dealerships across India. The carmaker has published a comprehensive list of display dates and locations at various NEXA dealerships, but test drives will not be available at this time.

Variants – 

Two main trims, Zeta and Alpha, will be available for the Jimny, which now has a longer wheelbase than its predecessor. It also features a silver grille that sets it apart from the standard model, along with two additional doors and a stretched body. The interior has also been enhanced with a few extra features.

Specs – 

Under the hood, the India-spec Suzuki Jimny is equipped with a 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine that produces 104PS and 134Nm. It will come with a choice of a 5-speed manual gearbox or 4-speed automatic transmission and will drive all four wheels with a low range transfer case.

Colours –

The Jimny is offered in six colour options: Sizzling Red, Granite Grey, Nexa Blue, Bluish Black, Pearl Arctic White, and a dual-tone Kinetic Yellow. The Sizzling Red also offers the option of a black roof.

Features – 

The Jimny offers a range of notable features such as a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car tech, cruise control, keyless entry, automatic climate control, and a multi-info display. In terms of passenger safety, it is equipped with six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors with a camera, and electronic stability control.

Rivals – 

The Jimny will compete with other off-roaders like the Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha.
