Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is a versatile seven-seater multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) that has been ruling the Indian market for years. The latest update to the Ertiga lineup is the introduction of a new Black edition.
Price and Variants:
The Maruti Ertiga is available in four trims: LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi+, with a price range of Rs 8.49 lakh to Rs 12.93 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The top two trims, ZXi and ZXi+, have an option for a CNG kit as well.
Colours:
The Ertiga is available in six colours: Auburn Red, Magma Grey, Pearl Metallic Arctic White, Pearl Metallic Dignity Brown, Prime Oxford Blue and Splendid Silver.
Seating Capacity and Boot Space:
The MPV can seat up to seven people and offers a 209-litre boot capacity that can be extended to 550 litres by tumbling down the third row.
Engine and Transmission:
The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga comes with a 1.5-litre petrol engine with mild hybrid technology (103PS/137Nm) and is available with either a five-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter transmission. It also gets a CNG powertrain, which has a reduced output of 88PS and 121.5Nm. The claimed fuel efficiency figures are impressive as well: 1.5-litre petrol: 20.51kmpl 1.5-litre petrol: 20.3kmpl CNG MT: 26.11km/kg.
Features:
The Ertiga is loaded with features like a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with the TBT (turn-by-turn) navigation on MID. It also boasts paddle shifters, cruise control, auto headlights, and auto AC.
Safety:
Safety features in the Ertiga include dual airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, rear parking sensors, and ISOFIX child seat anchorages. Higher trims of the MPV get a total of four airbags, electronic stability program (ESP) and hill-hold assist.
Rivals:
The Maruti Ertiga goes up against the Maruti XL6, Toyota Innova Crysta, Kia Carens and Mahindra Marazzo.
