I think Max races Lewis differently, not Mercedes: Mercedes boss Toto Wolff

Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has claimed that Max Verstappen only races Lewis Hamilton differently, rather than his team, despite his clash with George Russell in Formula 1’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix sprint race.

Verstappen, who had been battling Russell for third position in the opening corners of the race, was left angry when Russell made contact with him. After the race, Verstappen confronted Russell in parc ferme, but the Briton’s explanation did not impress him, leading to Verstappen calling Russell a “d***head.”

Some had speculated that Verstappen may choose to race Mercedes more aggressively than other teams, given his past clashes with Hamilton. However, Wolff saw nothing unusual in the incident and believed that it was just two young drivers fighting hard on track.

When asked if he thought Verstappen raced Mercedes differently, Wolff responded: “No, I think Max races Lewis differently. But between drivers of the same generation, they are all competitive and fiercely fight for position. They know each other well, and it’s just part of racing.”
