April may see the release of one of MG for India’s most inexpensive electric vehicles. A general market two-door electric vehicle, the newly unveiled Comet EV will compete with models like the Citroen eC3 and Tata Tiago EV.
Expected Launch: The MG Comet EV is likely to go on sale in April.
Price: MG could price it from Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.

Battery pack and Range: The international variants are offered with two battery packs: 17.3kWh and 26.7kWh. Both come mated to a 40PS electric motor with a rear-wheel drivetrain. The smaller and bigger battery packs have claimed ranges of 200km and 300km, respectively.
Features: MG’s ultra compact EV could boast a 10.25-inch digital floating display and instrument cluster, connected car tech, auto AC and steering-mounted controls.
Safety: It will likely include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC) and a rear parking camera.
Colours: MG Comet EV is available in 5 different colours – Avocado Green, Lemon Yellow, Galaxy Blue, Pristine White and Peach Pink.
