MG Motor India has launched the country’s smallest electric car, the MG Comet EV, with an introductory price of ₹7.98 lakh (ex-showroom).
The car has arrived at local dealerships across the country, and interested buyers can test drive the all-electric vehicle from dealership stores. The bookings of the EV are set to begin on May 15 in the country.
The MG Comet EV measures under three meters in length, 1,640 mm in height, and 1,505 mm in width, and rides on 12-inch steel wheels.
The car’s core component is a 17.3 kWh battery pack, and MG claims that it can achieve a range of 230 km. The vehicle offers three drive modes, namely Eco, Normal, and Sport.
The Comet EV can reach a maximum speed of 100 kmph, thanks to its rear-mounted single motor that delivers a peak power output of 41 hp and maximum torque of 110 Nm. On the inside, the MG Comet EV boasts two 10.25-inch screens, with one functioning as the main infotainment display that supports third-party apps, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay, while the other serves as a digital driver display.
