Maruti Fronx vs Brezza: Which one of the SUV to pick? Check out the key features

Maruti Suzuki Fronx is the latest entrant in the sub-compact SUV category in India which includes models such as Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and others. With introducing Fronx in the market, Maruti now has two cars under same category which posses as a threat for the other car makers. In the following article, we have compared Maruti’s Fronx and Brezza, the prices of which differ by just Rs 1 lakh.

Size comparison

To naked eye, Maruti Suzuki Fronx may appear smaller than Brezza. This is due to the fact the former is shorter in height than the latter. While Fronx stands at 3995 x 1765 1550 mm of size, Brezza is 25mm wide and 135 taller, as compared to its sibling. Brezza also has marginally better ground clearance of 198 mm, which is about 8 mm higher than Fronx.

Performance comparison

With Fronx, Maruti has brought back their famous Boosterjet engine. The SUV offers two choices of powertrain. It has 1.0 litre of turbo petrol unit can generate 100 hp of power and 147.6 Nm of peak torque. The car has five-speed manual or six-speed torque converter gearbox. There is also a 1.2-litre petrol engine that can churn out 90 hp of power and 113 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, Brezza offers new K-series 1.5 litre enaturally aspirated petrol engine. As compared to Boosterjet engine, this engine generates only 103 hp of power and 137 Nm of peak torque.

Features comparison

Fronx, which is based on Baleno hatchback, do not offer any glass on the roof, so if you are rooting for a sunroof, this SUV might not be for you. However, Brezza does offer a sunroof on some of its variants. While the ground clearance maybe higher with Brezza, Fronx sports a wider 17-inch alloy wheels compared to the 16-inches on the Brezza. Some features which are similar in both the SUVs are HuD screen, 360 degree camera, wireless connectivity among others.
