Mahindra’s XUV700 has gained significant popularity among Indian buyers due to its technologically advanced interior and refined powertrains. Since its launch in 2021, the SUV has been in high demand, resulting in long waiting periods for interested customers.

The top-spec Mahindra XUV700 AX7 and AX7L trims currently have the longest waiting periods. In comparison to its rivals such as the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Hyundai Alcazar, the XUV700 commands higher waiting periods across its lineup.

The waiting period for the petrol variants of the entry-level MX and AX3 trims is approximately six months, while their diesel counterparts require a wait of up to seven months. The mid-spec AX5 petrol and diesel trims have waiting periods of around eight months. However, it is the top-spec AX7 and AX7L trims that have the highest waiting periods, with potential buyers having to wait up to 11 months for the AX7 and up to 13 months for the AX7L.

In November 2022, the waiting periods were comparatively shorter. The MX and AX3 petrol trims had a waiting period of up to two months, while the AX5 petrol had a wait time of four months. The diesel-powered MX, AX3, and AX5 trims had a waiting period of up to 10 months, while the petrol and diesel versions of the AX7 and AX7L trims had a waiting period of up to 15 months.

The Mahindra XUV700 is available with two powertrain options. It is equipped with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 200hp and 380Nm of torque. Additionally, there is a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine available in two different power outputs: 155hp with 360Nm of torque and 185hp with 420Nm (450Nm with AT) of torque. Both engines can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. However, the option for all-wheel drive is exclusive to the diesel engine.

In terms of pricing, the Mahindra XUV700 is offered in a range of Rs 14.01 lakh to Rs 26.18 lakh (ex-showroom). The three-row version of the XUV700 competes with rivals like the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Hyundai Alcazar, while the two-row version goes up against the Tata Harrier and MG Hector SUVs.
