Lexus launches updated LC500h in India: Enhanced features and modernized infotainment
Luxury automaker Lexus has introduced the updated LC500h sports coupe in the Indian market, with prices commencing at Rs 2.39 crore (ex-showroom, India). While retaining its sleek design and powertrain, the refreshed LC500h showcases a significant upgrade in terms of its infotainment system. With this update, the prices of the LC500h have risen by Rs 10 lakh in India.
Revamped Infotainment System:
The prominent highlight of the updated LC500h is its all-new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, replacing the previous 10.3-inch unit. Unlike its predecessor, which was integrated into the dashboard, the new screen is positioned independently and shifted toward the driver for improved accessibility. The updated interface, akin to the Lexus RX model, offers enhanced functionality and a user-friendly experience.
Improved Ergonomics and Redesigned Dashboard:
In addition to the touchscreen upgrade, the removal of the touchpad from the center console contributes to a cleaner and more intuitive layout. Lexus has made certain adjustments to the button placement on the center console to optimize usability. The dashboard has undergone a slight redesign, resulting in a modern appearance, although the iconic analog clock beside the previous screen has been omitted. The interior of the LC500h retains its signature craftsmanship, with meticulous attention to detail and high-quality materials.
Unchanged Powertrain and Stylish Exterior:
The updated LC500h maintains its powerful performance, featuring a 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 petrol engine coupled with an electric motor and self-charging lithium-ion battery. The combustion engine delivers 300hp and 348Nm of torque, while the electric motor contributes an additional 180hp and 330Nm, resulting in a combined output of 354hp. The rear-wheel-drive sports coupe utilizes a clever gearbox that combines a 4-speed automatic with a CVT, offering the driver a choice of 10 gear ratios in manual mode. The LC500h achieves an impressive claimed 0-100kph acceleration time of 4.7 seconds. The exterior design of the sports coupe remains largely unchanged, except for the introduction of redesigned 21-inch alloy wheels.
Lexus Expanding its Luxury Lineup:
Apart from the LC500h, Lexus has recently launched the all-new RX SUV in India, starting at Rs 95.80 lakh (ex-showroom). Looking ahead, the luxury automaker plans to introduce the LM luxury MPV later in the year. The new-generation LM model will make its debut in India after being showcased at the Auto Expo earlier this year, signifying Lexus’ commitment to expanding its presence in the Indian luxury market.
