All you need to know about the newly launched Kia EV6
Prices of Kia’s first electric car for the Indian market has been recently launched in India.
The Kia EV6 is recently launched in India. The EV6 will attract hefty import duties making it expensive and Kia is offering just 100 units of the EV this year. Kia EV6 bookings opened on May 26 and the booking amount is Rs 3 lakh.
On the basis of Hyundai Motor Group’s E-GMP (Electric Global Modular Platform) dedicated EV architecture, the Kia EV6 is a crossover that measures 4,695mm long, 1,890mm wide and 1,550mm tall and sits on a generous 2,900mm wheelbase. This stylish crossover will be offered in five colours – Moonscape (pictured here), Snow White Pearl, Runway Red, Aurora Black Pearl, and Yacht Blue.
The Kia EV6 is very stylish inside with a large curved panel housing the instrument cluster and infotainment displays, both 12.3-inch in size. The features list is extensive and apart from a whole host of creature comforts, it also comes with ADAS functions.
There will be two variants of the Kia EV6 on sale in GT Line trim – RWD and AWD. The RWD or rear wheel drive variant features a single motor powering the rear wheels. With 229bhp and 350Nm on tap, it can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 7.3 seconds. The AWD or all wheel drive has a dual motor setup with 325bhp of max power and 605Nm of peak torque posting a rather quick 0 to 100kmph acceleration time of just 5.2 seconds.
In terms of range, the Kia EV6 GT Line RWD has a WLTP certified figure of 528km on a single charge while the Kia EV6 GT Line AWD has a WLTP certified range of 505km. 10 to 80 per cent charge can be achieved in just 18 minutes with the help of a 350kW DC fast charger while a 50kW DC fast charger will take 73 minutes for the same.
