Volvo Car India Reports Impressive 38% Sales Growth in Q1 of 2023

Volvo Car India has reported a 38% increase in sales for the January-March quarter of this year compared to the same period last year.
The automaker sold 544 units during this period, compared to 393 units in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The XC60 was a significant contributor to the sales growth, with a 27% increase in sales.
“A 38 per cent growth confirms positive customer sentiments in our luxury mobility offerings,” Volvo Car India Managing Director Jyoti Malhotra said.

This model is popular among Indian buyers due to its spacious cabin, advanced safety features, and attractive design. The XC60 is available in two variants, Inscription and Momentum, and is priced between INR 60 lakh and INR 65 lakh (ex-showroom).
The locally assembled all-electric XC40 Recharge was also a significant contributor to the sales growth, with 138 units sold during the quarter.
The XC40 Recharge is Volvo’s first fully-electric SUV and comes equipped with advanced safety features such as collision avoidance, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control.
Powered by a 78 kWh battery, it has a claimed range of over 400 km on a single charge. The XC40 Recharge is priced at INR 59.9 lakh (ex-showroom).
