Mercedes Benz claims that the EQS 580 can cover up to 300 km of range in 15 minutes of charge with a 200 kWh DC charger. 

On Friday, September 30, leading auto manufacturer Mercedes Benz has launched its first made-in-India luxury electric vehicle (EV), the Mercedes Benz EQS 580. This is one of the most luxurious EVs in the world.

The Mercedes Benz EQS 580 is powered by a 107.8 kWh battery that generates a power of 385 kW and 885 Nm of peak torque. The company claims that the EQS 580 can cover up to 500 km and will be India’s longest-range EV. Mercedes Benz further claims that the EQS 580 can cover up to 300 km of range in 15 minutes of charge with a 200 kWh DC charger.

The Mercedes Benz EQS 580 portrays a luxurious interior and an astonishing outer design. It has 19-inch tires making it comfortable to drive on the Indian roads.

The first locally manufactured Mercedes Benz EV is being assembled in the Chakan factory, Pune and is priced at Rs 1.55 crore. Apart from Germany, India is the only country to manufacture EQS. Mercedes Benz has also announced to set up the country’s largest EV charging network by the end of 2022.
