Maruti Suzuki to launch from next week: Report

The debut of the Fronx SUV-coupe in India has been confirmed by Maruti Suzuki India for the upcoming week. The car made its debut in January 2023 at Auto Expo.

Maruti Suzuki hopes to overtake Ford as the second-largest automaker by increasing sales at its upscale Nexa store. The business will introduce additional Nexa-exclusive models, such as a variety of SUVs and MPVs, in order to meet its goal. The new Fronx small SUV will be unveiled by the Indo-Japanese automaker in April.

Fronx emulates SUV traits as it has prominent shoulder lines, thick body covering, and roof bars that highlight its SUV features. In addition to this, it gains an arcing coupe-like roofline that gives it a stylish appearance. The linked LED taillamps with NEXtre design features modernise the back.

Both the new 1.0L, 3-cylinder turbocharged Boosterjet and the 1.2L, 4-cylinder normally aspirated gas engines are available for the new Maruti SUV. Both engines produce power worth 100bhp with 147.6Nm and 90bhp with 113Nm when enhanced with mild hybrid technology. There are two transmission choices for the normally aspirated engine: a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. The torque converter automatic gearbox for the turbo-petrol engine has both five and six speeds.
