Lamborghini Urus S launched today at Rs 4.18 crore: Report
The Urus S, a new luxury model from Lamborghini India, has been launched with a starting price of Rs 4.18 crore (ex-showroom, India). This model is the second in the Urus line-up, with the Urus Performante being the other model, which costs Rs 4.22 crore (ex-showroom, India). However, the Urus S is priced Rs 4 lakh less than the Urus Performante. While both models share the same 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine that produces 666hp and 850Nm of torque, the Urus S is more focused on luxury and customization than the Urus Performante. The Urus S is powered by an 8-speed automatic gearbox and can go from 0-100kph in a claimed 3.5 seconds, slightly slower than the Urus Performante’s claimed time of 3.3 seconds. The Urus S was launched globally in September last year to replace the outgoing Urus.
The suspension arrangement is a significant point of contrast between the Urus S and Urus Performante. The latter model features a sportier, fixed coil spring that is lowered to improve handling, while the Urus S retains its previous air suspension system. This means that the Urus S can adjust its ride height and offer a smoother ride quality. In addition to Strada, Sport, and Corsa modes for street, sport, and track use, the Urus S also features three off-road modes – Sabbia, Neve, and Terra (Sand, Snow, and Mud). However, due to the lack of air springs, the Urus Performante only comes with a single off-road mode, ‘Rally’.
