Hyundai Exter: Launch date, price, design, features, rivals and more

Hyundai is preparing to launch the highly anticipated Exter SUV in India in the near future. Bookings for the SUV have already commenced across the country, with a booking amount of Rs 11,000. As the launch approaches, the details regarding the available colors, variants, and powertrain options have also been unveiled. Here’s a glimpse of what you can expect from Hyundai’s upcoming contender, which will rival the Tata Punch and Citroen C3.

Hyundai Exter: Variants
The forthcoming Exter SUV will be offered in a total of seven primary variants: EX, EX (O), S, S (O), SX, SX (O), and SX (O) Connect. Additionally, Hyundai will provide a CNG version, available in two variants: S and SX.

The Exter will be available in six single-tone color options, including Cosmic Blue, Atlas White, Fiery Red, Starry Night, Ranger Khaki, and Titan Grey. Customers will also have the choice of three dual-tone paint combinations: Cosmic Blue with Abyss Black, Ranger Khaki with Abyss Black, and Atlas Black with Abyss Black.
Hyundai Exter: Features
Expect Hyundai to equip the Exter with a wide range of features, including cruise control, USB Type-C charging ports, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), cooled glove box, a spacious touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, electronic stability control (ESC), vehicle stability management (VSM), hill assist control (HAC), anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), rear parking sensors, wireless phone charging, power-adjustable outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs) with auto-fold function, automatic headlamps, and an electric sunroof.
Hyundai Exter: Engine and Transmission
The Exter SUV will be powered by a 1.2-liter, inline four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine. It is anticipated that this engine will generate around 83PS of power and 114Nm of torque. The Exter CNG variant, on the other hand, is expected to deliver approximately 69PS of power and 95Nm of torque. The petrol variant will be available with a choice of a five-speed manual transmission or an automated manual transmission (AMT), while the CNG version will only come with a five-speed manual gearbox.
Hyundai Exter: Prices and Rivals
The prices for the Hyundai Exter are estimated to start from around Rs 6 lakh and go up to Rs 10 lakh. Once launched, the Exter will face competition from other models in its segment such as the Tata Punch, Citroen C3, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger.
