BMW launches X3 M40i in India: A sportier variant of the X3 SUV hits the Indian market at ₹86.50 Lakh

BMW has introduced the sportier variant of its X3 SUV, the X3 M40i, in India. Priced at ₹86.50 lakh (ex-showroom), the X3 M40i is being offered as a completely built-up (CBU) unit. Interested buyers can place orders by paying a token amount of ₹5 lakh. Let’s take a closer look at the features and specifications of this sporty SUV.

The X3 M40i comes with several distinctive design elements, including blacked-out kidney grills, smoked shadow LED headlights, gloss black M-specific side mirrors, dual black exhaust pipes, and 20-inch dual-spoke M alloy wheels. The SUV’s aggressive appearance is further enhanced by the presence of red painted brake calipers.

Inside the X3 M40i, you’ll find an all-black interior with Sensatec black upholstery, accented by carbon fiber elements. The sportier version also includes an M leather steering wheel and M Sport seat belts with red and blue stripes.

In terms of features, the X3 M40i is equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, powered front seats with memory function, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, and a three-zone climate control system. Safety features include six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and electronic stability control (ESC).

Powering the X3 M40i is a 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that delivers 360PS of power and 500Nm of torque. It is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and features BMW’s all-wheel-drive system, which distributes power to all four wheels. The X3 M40i accelerates from 0 to 100kmph in just 4.9 seconds.

In terms of competition, the BMW X3 M40i takes on rivals such as the Porsche Macan and Mercedes AMG GLC. Priced competitively at ₹86.50 lakh (ex-showroom Pan India), the X3 M40i offers a blend of performance and luxury for SUV enthusiasts in the Indian market.
