BMW is likely to launch an electric Maxi-scooter in India soon

BMW is very keen to launch its electric scooter in developing markets like India and China.

The German auto manufacturer, BMW is expected to launch its electric Maxi-scooter in India soon. Several reports suggest that it could be the BMW CE 04, which is BMW’s only electric Maxi-scooter that is sold globally.

BMW is very keen to launch its electric scooter in developing markets like India and China. Several domestic players have already launched their two-wheeler EVs in the market and have garnered a positive results despite several incidents.

EV manufacturers like Ola Electric and Hero Motors have kept their electric shooter in a price range between Rs 1,00,000 to 1,50,000, whereas the BMW CE 04 has a starting price of Rs 14 lakh, ex-showroom. “It is our strategy to bring our full line up of global products to India and CE 04 is definitely in our consideration. But we haven’t made a firm decision yet and cannot give a timeline at this point,” said Vikram Pawah, President of BMW Group India.

Mr Pawah has further added, that the company is working to develop a more affordable electric scooter for the Indian market.
