BMW hikes price of diesel variant of new X1 by ₹3 lakh, petrol variant remains unchanged
BMW has recently announced a price hike for its diesel variant of the new X1 SUV. The X1 sDrive 18d M Sport will now retail at Rs 50.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India), marking an increase of Rs 3 lakh from its previous price. Meanwhile, the petrol variant of the X1 remains unaffected by the price hike. The German automaker has also confirmed that the customers who have booked the X1 at introductory prices and are expecting deliveries in April and May will not be affected by this price hike.
Comparing the prices of the diesel-powered X1 with its only rival in the segment, the Mercedes-Benz GLA 220d, the BMW SUV is now Rs 90,000 more expensive. Despite the price hike, the X1 continues to offer several features and technologies that set it apart from its competitors. It comes with a range of advanced safety features, a host of connectivity options, and a powerful engine that delivers an impressive performance.
The BMW X1 sDrive 18d M Sport is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 148bhp of power and 350Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and comes with front-wheel drive as standard. The SUV comes with a variety of driving modes that offer different settings for different terrains, including Sand, Snow, and Mud, as well as Street, Sport, and Track modes.
Despite the price hike, the BMW X1 sDrive 18d M Sport remains an excellent option for those looking for a premium SUV with a powerful engine, advanced safety features, and a range of connectivity options. The carmaker is known for offering luxury vehicles that combine performance, technology, and style, and the X1 is no exception. With the latest price hike, however, customers will need to pay a premium for the X1’s advanced features and technologies.
