BMW hikes price of diesel variant of new X1 by ₹3 lakh, petrol variant remains unchanged

BMW has recently announced a price hike for its diesel variant of the new X1 SUV. The X1 sDrive 18d M Sport will now retail at Rs 50.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India), marking an increase of Rs 3 lakh from its previous price. Meanwhile, the petrol variant of the X1 remains unaffected by the price hike. The German automaker has also confirmed that the customers who have booked the X1 at introductory prices and are expecting deliveries in April and May will not be affected by this price hike.

Comparing the prices of the diesel-powered X1 with its only rival in the segment, the Mercedes-Benz GLA 220d, the BMW SUV is now Rs 90,000 more expensive. Despite the price hike, the X1 continues to offer several features and technologies that set it apart from its competitors. It comes with a range of advanced safety features, a host of connectivity options, and a powerful engine that delivers an impressive performance.
